Weekend CNA Classes in Philadelphia

For those interested in weekend CNA classes in Philadelphia, there are two options:

Both programs have similar durations and program structures. Learn more about each individual CNA school in the following descriptions:

1. Community College of Philadelphia

Community College of Philadelphia offers a Nurse Aide Training program with flexible weekend classes designed for those with weekday commitments. The program includes classroom lectures, lab skills, and clinical practicum, ensuring comprehensive training.

Weekend classes run from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturdays, with clinical sessions on Saturdays and Sundays from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. This schedule is ideal for individuals who need to balance work or other responsibilities during the week while pursuing a career as a CNA.

Additionally, eligible students can apply for Workforce Development Program Scholarships, which provide financial support to help cover the cost of tuition. Upon completion of the program, students are prepared to sit for the Pennsylvania State Nurse Aide Competency and Training Examination.

2. Quality Care Nursing

Quality Care Nursing offers a CNA program with weekend classes running every other weekend through their evening program. The evening program runs for 4-6 weeks, with classes held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and every other weekend from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

The program includes 3 weeks of theory, lab, and skills training, followed by a final week dedicated to clinical practice, scheduled during daytime hours. This practical approach ensures that students are well-prepared for the Pennsylvania state CNA certification exam. The program also has a unique partnership with Wesley Enhanced Living, where tuition is covered in exchange for a work commitment, providing students with both training and job experience.

A big downside for those looking exclusively for weekend programs is that this program is not offered only on weekends, but it may be a good option for those open to evening class options.

Our Recommendation

It really depends on you and what you want. Are you eligible for financial aid? Would you want to receive free training through a work agreement, but be tied to working for an employer for a set period of time? Do you want weekend only classes or a mix of evening and weekend classes?

We would recommend reaching out to both schools to inquire about their weekend CNA classes. This will allow you to get more details about their financial aid options and work agreement programs, upcoming class availability, and a better general sense of which is more suited for your individual needs and long-term interests.
