Penn Asian Senior Services (PASSi)

Penn Asian Vocational Institute (PAVI) stands out as a provider of comprehensive training for individuals aspiring to become compassionate caregivers in the healthcare industry. Led by experienced nurses, their courses are designed to equip students with the skills necessary for success in the workforce.

The CNA Training program, spanning seven weeks and totaling 120 hours, is geared towards preparing participants for the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program Examination (NNAAP Examination). Successful completion certifies individuals as CNAs in the state of Pennsylvania. The course includes 43 hours of classroom instruction, 25 hours of laboratory experience, a 52-hour clinical rotation, and CPR certification. PASSi’s CNA training is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, ensuring its credibility and adherence to educational standards.

For those interested in home healthcare, PASSi offers a two-week (80-hour) Home Health Aide (HHA) Training program. This course covers essential topics such as body mechanics, nutritional and diabetic care, and early intervention. Participants have the opportunity to earn their CPR certification as part of the curriculum. The HHA classes are available in multiple languages, including Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Hindi, Haitian Creole, and English. Course materials are thoughtfully provided by the Institute.

Additionally, PAVI collaborates with Penn State University’s Abington campus to offer a Vocational English as a Second Language (VESL) course. This 100-hour program aims to improve the English proficiency of individuals, specifically focusing on the skills necessary for success in the healthcare workforce. It serves as a preparatory step for those looking to attend CNA training and advance their careers in healthcare.

The Penn Asian Vocational Institute is committed to inclusivity, providing courses for individuals from diverse backgrounds. If you are considering a career in healthcare and are interested in any of their offerings, reaching out to them is a simple step towards acquiring the tools needed to become a proficient caretaker.
